- The Department of the Treasury Blueprint for a Modernized Financial Regulatory Structure, Chapter 3: History of the Current Regulatory Framework
- G30 Report on financial regulation reform—the project was chaired by Paul Volcker. The Report is intended for policy makers in all countries, but several of the issues and recommendations have a direct U.S. focus.
- Bush Administration Treasury Blueprint—the new Congress will not rely on these recommendations and instead rely on the Obama Administration's recommendations, which are required by the EESA (TARP legislation) to be released by April 30, 2009. However, we have heard that the Obama Administration hopes to release its recommendations by the end of March.
- Committee on Capital Markets Regulation (CCMR)—a 501(c)(3) research organization that includes leaders from academia, and the investor, business, finance, accounting and law community. It is co-chaired by Glenn Hubbard, Dean of the Columbia Business School, and John Thornton, Chair of the Brookings Institution. The CCMR's director is Professor Hal Scott, Nomura Professor and Director of the Program on International Financial Systems at Harvard Law School.
